About

Therapeutic approach
I love to work with people who long to live a meaningful life but are feeling stuck. I know from my work as a therapist (and from my own life experience) that the human- life-struggle is real. Mental and emotional challenges, while not always visible to an outside observer, can be incapacitating and they often have a profound effect on a person’s ability to experience fulfilling relationships.

Thankfully, we do not have to do it alone. Once we acknowledge areas where we are struggling and admit we need help, we can begin to find the support we need. Therapy is about healing from painful past experiences, discovering strengths, challenging thinking, improving relationships, and ultimately creating new and rewarding ways of living, and I’d love to help you do those things.

I am excited by all the advancements in the field of mental health and have committed myself to keeping up with innovative ways to treat a variety of diagnoses.

Training
I am trained in the following modalities:
● EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) an effective way to treat trauma
● ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) a process-based therapy focused on creating a life of purpose and meaning
● ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) an evidence based treatment for OCD
● IBT (Inference Based Therapy) a newly developed but well-researched approach for treating OCD
● CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) a well-researched approach to treating a variety of mental health issues
● EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) an effective form of therapy that helps couples develop secure attachments and improve their marital satisfaction

I love to help people improve the quality of their most meaningful relationships and experience the joy of authentically loving and being loved. I love to use creativity and art to help people move learning from their head to their heart. Dr. Brené Brown’s research on shame, vulnerability and our human need for connection has dramatically shaped my practice.

Personal
I take self-care and my need to play very seriously! When I’m not in the office, I love to practice yoga at my favorite studio, listen to audiobooks, ride bikes, backpack, spend time with my siblings and friends, and go on road trips with my family. I love being a patron of the arts–going to plays, looking at paintings, and listening to music. I love to create and have dabbled with painting, calligraphy and writing.

I see clients in-person in my office in Lehi, Utah and virtually in Utah, Idaho and Arizona. I look forward to meeting you!
